Kasem Cares is proud to announce the 2016 Kasem Cares Conference on Aging will be held in Orange County, California April 21-23, 2016. Attendees from across the nation and abroad attend the conference to learn, network and participate in this conference covering issues of aging, elder abuse awareness and prevention and quality of life for older adults.
The conference features informative educational programs, meaningful exhibits and stimulating speakers – a collaborative effort among community-based service providers, caring individuals, law enforcement, attorneys and area agencies on aging. The founder of Kasem Cares and advocate against elder abuse, Kerri Kasem, will also be presenting at this educational conference.’

Conference Goals and Objectives
This year’s conference will take place in Orange County, California. The educational goal of the 2016 Kasem Cares Conference on Aging is to offer professionals and practitioners the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, exchange information on best practices, and learn about the latest research and trends for the aging population.
The five main sub-themes are:
1. Game changers: Innovations in research and practice of the ever growing aging population
2. Providing effective resources, tools and care for aging patients and their caregivers.
3. Strategies in addressing social injustices faced by the aging population.
4. Red flag awareness; how to recognize and report elder mistreatment.
5. Collaboration of communities for the changing health environment

Elder Rights Advocate & Multimedia Personality
Kerri Kasem, a multimedia personality, producer and writer, has anchored music, talk and entertainment programs for radio and television. In February 2010, she joined Premiere Radio Networks for the launch of Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx and The Side Show Countdown. In April of 2014, she left Sixx Sense to form Kasem Cares and Kasem Coalition, a non-profit organization which and has successfully passed bills in multiple states to stop elder abuse. Soon after her exit from Sixx Sense, Kasem joined Gurvey’s Law on 790KABC.
Kasem founded Kasem Cares to help stop elder abuse and establish and fight for the rights to have visitation and reasonable access to an ailing parent, especially when under the care and control of an uncooperative spouse or sibling.

Fritz Coleman is a weathercaster on TV, a broadcasting icon, Coleman is well known for his sense of humor and extensive knowledge of weather.

Greenwood, a lawyer for over 36 years, began his career in England. He moved to his wife’s hometown of San Diego and passed the California Bar in 1991. Greenwood’s assignment as an elder abuse prosecutor 19 years ago developed into a long-term career.
Mr. Greenwood joined the San Diego DA’s office in 1993 and started the Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit in January 1996. Under his leadership the unit has grown to a team of twelve. He has also been involved in the prosecution of over 200 felony elder abuse cases.
