Dan Pitkow is a former attorney from Pennsylvania, and founder of Flipper LLC. in Santa Monica. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Classics in 1991, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1997. As an attorney, he practiced complex litigation and estate planning in Philadelphia, including Medicaid eligibility and end of life planning. He also experienced the Guardianship proceedings first hand as a “party of interest,” as his father, a former attorney, progressed into Alzheimer’s disease. In 2008 he started Flipper LLC. As a self-funded entrepreneur, he designed and brought to market a Flipper Remote, a simple TV remote control for people with dementia, blindness and other impairments. Flipper is distributed in the US, Canada, UK and Australia, with sales in over 20 countries, including Mozambique, Russia and India.
